Salary Range:$61,893.64 - $68,237.85

Location: Toronto, Yonge & Eglinton

The opportunity

The Digital Media Producer I is responsible for creating multi-platform content consistent with editorial, artistic, intellectual, and technical quality standards within a specified timeframe and resource allocation in collaboration with subject matter experts. We are looking for a talented and creative person who can produce fun and engaging educational content.

How you will make an impact 

  • Research, propose, develop, write, edit and collaborate on content in a variety of formats

  • Create, select and edit photos, graphics, video, and audio and interactive elements

  • Select, re-write and/or edit copy or text written by others

  • Coordinate within their own departmental and divisional contributors to ensure seamless execution of cross-department, multi-platform content

  • Propose, develop and organize new approaches to generate a variety of video content quickly, in response to emerging issues and developing technologies

  • Liaise with Media Research Team to ensure proper and accurate clearance of all material used

  • Create instructional materials including, but not limited to videos, online activities and audio/video script

  • Direct crew in studio or in the field, when required

  • Perform off and occasionally on camera in-character roles, record voice overs, act as voice over talent, and direct talent

  • Perform other directly related duties

What you will bring to TVO

  • Minimum 3+ years of work experience making digital content, with experience in filming real people (video and interactive content preferred)

  • College or University graduate (or equivalent experience) in Digital Media, Writing, Communications, etc.

  • Proficiency in editing/trimming (using Adobe software: Premiere and Audition.)

  • Ability to use production/post-production software (Adobe software: After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Audition etc.)

  • Strong understanding of digital file formats and how to gather and edit media such as video and video.

  • Experience and knowledge of educational media and current digital learning trends

  • Working knowledge of online production processes, digital asset management, and back-end administration

  • Proven self-starter with excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

  • Motivated, with the ability to work independently and productively in highly collaborative teams

  • Demonstrated flexibility with work assignments, with the ability to work efficiently, establish priorities, and work effectively under pressure to meet tight and shifting timelines

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and client service skills

  • Adept at handling constructive criticism and executing on required changes

  • Nice to have: Bilingual in French and English.
