POV partners with talented youth to champion diversity and inclusion within content production industries by increasing access to skills training, job placements, mentorship and professional development opportunities.
Our programs intentionally prioritize BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomer and refugee communities to ensure everyone has access to the tools and training they need to tell the stories that mean the most to them. Slowly but surely, the impact of this work is being felt, but we are determined to do more.
OUR HISTORY
Established in 2007, POV is one of few organizations in the city training and preparing diverse talent for meaningful careers in the content production industry.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT
In partnership with Screen Industry Training Hub and the City of Toronto, POV is piloting a first-of-its-kind real-time 3D training program for creatives in Toronto. In the first phase of this program, Unreal Engine-authorized trainers will guide POV participants in the filmmaking workflow through a comprehensive overview of the tools and techniques used to create short, animated stories using Unreal Engine.
Volunteer with us
All of our programs are designed with young creatives in mind. In addition to the knowledge and expertise of our staff, youth have the opportunity to learn from and be mentored by industry professionals at critical points throughout our programs. If you would like to volunteer to instruct or facilitate a workshop or module, or volunteer as crew for our short films, please do not hesitate to contact us.
